SUMMARY
The Director of Patient Services directs the branch office’s patient service programs; assumes day to day responsibility for patient care services in the branch office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Consults with the attending physician and/or the registered nurse of the case
 concerning alteration of the care plan.
Assigns individual providing aide, RN or LPN service in accordance with
physician’s plan of care
Refers to and coordinates with other community agencies to arrange other
services for the patient.
Conducts periodic, follow-up in-home assessments to monitor and ensure
appropriate patient care.
Conducts new employee orientations, pre-employment and annual skills
competency testing.
Coordinators the clinical record review program
Ensures that all employees are in compliance with all Company policies
and applicable laws and regulations.
Ensures that all authorizations for services are current and appropriate.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the Registered Professional Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Aides. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of patient services. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an approved school of nursing; previous home care experience preferred and a minimum of three years experience in nursing preferably in a supervisory setting.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a current license to practice in the State as a registered professional nurse. Must maintain a current CPR certification.
