Star Multi Care, an eastern regional home care company, has recently acknowledged a group of caregivers who have continued to provide exceptional care throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and brutal winter storms that have crippled some of the other home care providers in Long Island, New York. These three employees, Lucarnold L., Devendra S. and Cintia LS were spotlighted as the Company’s first “All Star Team” each receiving the highly acclaimed “Employee of The Year” Award.
“We felt these employees have truly reflected our mission as they continually work together to ensure our client, Paul, continues to receive high-quality, 24-hour care during some really tough times”, said Lauren Scalcione, RN Administrator of the Melville branch. Paul often writes or calls to let the office know how happy he is with the work ethics of his home health aides (HHA). Most recently, he has written about his appreciation for having such “Caring, Consistent, Friendly. Knowledgeable, and Punctual Home Health Care Aides” who had never skipped a beat during the recent storms and throughout the pandemic. He feels he would have never been able to leave South Shore University Hospital without their loyalty and dedication.
Lucarnold has been with Star Multi Care the longest and admittedly left the Company briefly after the passing of a previous client but quickly returned in 2021. Devendra was hired in 2021 working with Paul and another Veteran who is equally pleased with the care he provides. Cintia is the newest addition to the trio and completes the overnight shifts for Paul as well as pitches in on other overnights to assist the Company. “All three are amazing employees and selfless individuals”, Lauren boasts.
The appreciation of this relationship appears to be mutual as Lucarnold admits that he “has been a HHA for over five years and stays with Star Multi Care because of the team atmosphere”. Equally appreciative are both Devendra and Cintia who have no plans of leaving and “love working at such a blessed agency”. Star Multi Care has always been a Company who values the belief that teamwork makes the Company stronger. This All Star Team award may be the first but surely will not be the last.
